Longtime Michigan resident Michael Moore tells Bill Maher he thinks Trump will win presidency, cites enthusiastic response to Trump candidacy in Michigan and neighboring states. Moore says Trump's views are 'music to peoples' ears,' and more Michigan residents voted Republican than Democrat in 2016 primaries-Hollywood Reporter

Michael Moore, film maker, Bernie Sanders supporter, says: "I'm sorry to have to be the kind of buzz kill here so early on, but I think Trump is going to win....(:50) I live in Michigan, and let me tell you, it's going to be the Brexit strategy. The middle of England is Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. And, Mitt Romney lost by 64 electoral votes. The total electoral votes of those 4 states in the Rust Belt, 64. All he has to do is win those 4 states. I'm telling you, I was there during the Michigan primary and he (Trump) went there in front of the Ford, and he said, I'm telling you right now, they move this factory to Mexico, I'm putting a tariff on the cars, and that's it. And it was music to peoples' ears, and more people in Michigan in the Michigan primary voted Republican than Democrat in the primary this year. That should be disturbing to everybody."

"The filmmaker appeared on Maher's 'Real Time With Bill Maher' GOP convention special on Wednesday.

Michael Moore told Bill Maher he thinks that Donald Trump will win the election during Wednesday's special edition of Real Time With Bill Maher for the Republican National Convention....

Speakers at Wednesday’s “Make America First Again”-themed program at the RNC included Ted Cruz, Newt Gingrich and Trump's running mage Mike Pence, who used his speech to accept the GOP’s vice-presidential nomination.
Maher’s guests for the evening were documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, MSNBC host Joy-Ann Reid and “Savage Love” columnist Dan Savage....

Moore drew gasps from the audience when he stated his belief that Trump would win the election. "I'm sorry to have to be the buzzkill here so early on, but I think Trump is going to win."

The audience booed, but Maher responded that "the enemy is complacency" and he was glad Moore said it because he "certainly could win."...

HBO will air a second Real Time RNC special tomorrow night at 8 p.m. PT."

Commenter to Hollywood Reporter article on Free Republic notes Moore's first movie, "Roger and Me," (1989) was about hard life in Flint, Michigan (Rust Belt) after General Motors downsized:

"To: goldstategop

The irony here is that he says Trump is going to win by pushing to the “rust belt states” the very same concepts that were the theme of Moore’s first big film Roger and Me.
