NRDC president Frances Beinecke continues to deny stunning science of US CO2 plunge that even Obama and NRDC’s Lashof have cited, denies decades of climate ‘action’ already taken by US and Obama. NRDC lawyers would lose millions if Beinecke admitted the truth and moved on to urgent problems like ending the ethanol industry

If Beinecke admitted she won, that her job was over, the trillion dollar carbon industry would crash. If she cared about CO2 she'd be talking about 800 new coal plants opening in Communist China and India. She'd be telling other countries to follow the US lead in lowering CO2. If she cared about the poor, she'd make ending the ethanol industry her first priority.

8/16/12, “AP IMPACT: CO2 emissions in US drop to 20-year low, AP, Kevin Begos

In a surprising turnaround, the amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere in the U.S. has fallen dramatically to its lowest level in 20 years, and government officials say the biggest reason is that cheap and plentiful  natural gas has led many power plant operators to switch from dirtier-burning coal.

Many of the world’s leading climate scientists didn’t see the drop coming, in large part because it happened as a result of market forces rather than direct government action against carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the atmosphere.

Michael Mann, director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State University, said the shift away from coal is reason for “cautious optimism” about potential ways to deal with climate change….

In a little-noticed technical report, the U.S. Energy Information Agency, a part of the Energy Department, said this month that energy related U.S. CO2 emissions for the first four months of this year fell to about 1992 levels. Energy emissions make up about 98 percent of the total.

The Associated Press contacted environmental experts, scientists and utility companies and learned that
virtually everyone believes the shift could have major long-term implications for U.S. energy policy.”…

6/4/12, “Climate change stunner: USA leads world in CO2 cuts since 2006,” Vancouver Observer, Saxifrage

“Not only that, but as my top chart shows, US CO2 emissions are falling even faster than what President Obama pledged in the global Copenhagen Accord.

Here is the biggest shocker of all: the average American’s CO2 emissions are down to levels not seen since 1964 --over half a century ago. …Coal is the number two source of CO2 for Americans. Today the average American burns an amount similar to what they did in 1955, and even less than they did in the 1940s. …It is exactly America’s historical role of biggest and dirtiest that makes their sharp decline in CO2 pollution so noteworthy

and potentially game changing at the global level.”...

In order to determine where [catastrophic man-caused] climate change fits into the priority ranking of our nation’s most important agenda items, it seems worthwhile to step back and take stock of the quiet but tremendous progress that the U.S. has already made in reducing carbon [dioxide] emissions.”

Frances, President Obama is aware of the stunning news of US CO2 drop and mentioned it in a speech on Aug. 28, 2012.

From Pres. Obama’s speech:  8/28/12, at Iowa State:

We’re on track to emit fewer greenhouse gases this year than we have in nearly 20 years. You can keep those trends going.”
  • 8/28/12, The NY Times noted Obama’s recognition of US emissions drop.
=====================================

Trillions have been taken from US taxpayers for climate endeavors via agency budget allocations, tax subsidies, diversion of US military to climate or green projects, countless federal regulations, vast sums shipped out in no strings foreign aid for ‘climate’ capacity building, etc.

Other countries’ CO2 hasn’t dropped despite hundreds of billions spent on cap and trade and extra taxes. This isn’t to say the US government hasn’t become business partners with the ‘climate’ industry.

================================

Frances, Obama’s “climate actions” also include:

1. In 2011 alone the US spent “$10.6 million (taxpayer dollars) a day to study, combat, and educate about climate change.” 1/5/11
————————–
2. US climate action’ in November 2012 included giving $6 billion US taxpayer dollars for ‘clean energy’ to the Sultan of Brunei who owns 5000+ cars and to the Pres. of Indonesia, a country so corrupt even the World Bank says crime adds 20% to costs. Below, one of the Sultan of Brunei’s cars:

Frances, how about the billions of no strings US taxpayer dollars sent all over in the name of “climate action?”

The US has spent “$2.5 billion on GCCI since 2010 on overseas anti-global warming efforts in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.”…

3/26/12, “Obama Requests $770 Million to Fight Global Warming Overseas,” CNS News, Matt Cover

“The Obama administration has requested $770 million in federal funds to combat the effects of global warming in developing countries, a new congressional report details, continuing its policy of using foreign aid to combat the effects of global warming in the developing world.

The figure, from a recent report from the Congressional Research Service (CRS), shows that despite another year of $1 trillion deficits, the Obama administration continues to pursue its policy of using foreign aid funds for anti-global warming measures – known as the Global Climate Change Initiative (GCCI).

According to CRS, the government has spent a total of $2.5 billion on GCCI since 2010 on overseas anti-global warming efforts in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.”…

Frances, per Lisa Jackson, this is all conversation anyway:

“EPA Administrator Jackson confirmed an EPA analysis showing that unilateral U.S. action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions would have no effect on climate….“I believe the central parts of the [EPA] chart are that U.S. action alone will not impact world CO2 levels,” Administrator Jackson said.”…

Frances, even the World Bank has called for an end to US ethanol policy. Even NY Mayor Bloomberg, a CO2 endangerment profiteer, says ethanol causes mass starvation. A UN official called biofuels a "crime against humanity" in 2008."

7/4/2008, "Biofuels May Be Even Worse than First Thought," Der Spiegel

"Biofuels have driven up global food prices by 75 percent, according to the Guardian report, accounting for more than half of the 140 percent jump in price since 2002 of the food examined by the study. The paper claims that the report, completed in April, was not made public in order to avoid embarrassing US President George W. Bush....

"Political leaders seem intent on suppressing and ignoring the strong evidence that biofuels are a major factor in recent food price rises," Oxfam policy advisor Robert Bailey told the Guardian on Friday....

Criticism of fuel from grains and grass has not just centered on food prices. With farmers in developing countries cutting down rain forest and draining peat bogs -- both valuable for their ability to soak CO2 out of the atmosphere -- to make way for biofuel plantations, many doubt that the substance is carbon neutral. Plus, some fertilizers used in the production of grains for biofuels release nitrous oxide into the atmosphere, a greenhouse gas that is up to 300 times more harmful than CO2.

The World Bank report obtained by the Guardian says that biofuels production puts pressure on food prices by driving grain away from food production, by encouraging farmers to set aside land for biofuels crops, and by triggering grain speculation on the financial markets.

The problem has become so bad that UN Special Rapporteur for the Right to Food Jean Ziegler called biofuels a "crime against humanity" earlier this spring. "
