The League of Women Voters relied on incorrect or outdated science in creating their full page climate terror ad on 1/5/13 aimed at Obama in Hawaii. Obama himself knows that US CO2 has dropped to 1992 levels and is heading lower. The LWV should inform themselves about current science before demanding changes they erroneously and grandiosely claim will benefit all Americans. Further, this group doesn't speak for Americans.

1/4/13, “League of Women Voters Releases Ad in Hawaii Urging President Obama to Act to Protect Hawaiian ‘aina Against Climate Change,” Hawaii Reporter
“As President Obama wraps up his family vacation on his native Hawaii, the League of Women Voters sent him back to Washington DC with a reminder that his legacy on climate change will have a great impact on the island state’s future. In a full-page print ad, which will run on Saturday in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, the group is urging President Obama to set tough standards for new and existing power plants under the Clean Air Act.
The President has the authority to act now to address these sources of dangerous climate change. A warming planet, according to the recent Pacific Islands Regional Climate Assessment (PIRCA), will impact Hawaii especially hard. The report makes clear that rising sea levels and higher temperatures pose real threats to the natural resources of Hawaii.
Elisabeth MacNamara, President of the League of Women Voters of the United States said, “Climate change is the greatest environmental threat of our generation, perhaps of all time.”….
Beppie Shapiro, President, League of Women Voters of Hawaii said, “The President has said, ‘We want our children to live in an America that isn’t … threatened by the destructive power of a warming planet.‘ He is right. If we fail to act,
rising sea levels, super storms, and droughts will forever change these islands, our nation and the world.”
The ad is part of a broader push by League of Women Voters for executive action on climate change. The group recently sent a letter to President Obama, which calls for the President to “take the historically necessary step of controlling industrial carbon pollution from new and existing power plants. Use your existing regulatory authority to make this happen.””… via Tom Nelson. Image from Hawaii Reporter

The League of Women voters and people of Hawaii should cheer knowing US CO2 has dropped steadily for 20 years and is heading lower to the point experts believe US energy policy will change to reflect reduced status of US CO2 danger. President Obama is aware of this stunning news and mentioned it in a speech on Aug. 28, 2012. An 8/16/12 AP report cited the 20 year drop of US CO2:
8/16/12, AP: “In a surprising turnaround, the amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere in the U.S. has fallen dramatically to its lowest level in 20 years.“…

More on US CO2 dropping to 1992 levels and heading lower:
“In a surprising turnaround, the amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere in the U.S. has fallen dramatically to its lowest level in 20 years, and government officials say the biggest reason is that cheap and plentiful natural gas has led many power plant operators to switch from dirtier-burning coal.
Many of the world’s leading climate scientists didn’t see the drop coming, in large part because it happened as a result of market forces rather than direct government action against carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the atmosphere.
Michael Mann, director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State University, said the shift away from coal is reason for “cautious optimism” about potential ways to deal with climate change….
- 8/28/12, The NY Times noted Obama’s recognition of US emissions drop.

In a little-noticed technical report, the U.S. Energy Information Agency, a part of the Energy Department, said this month that energy related U.S. CO2 emissions for the first four months of this year fell to about 1992 levels. Energy emissions make up about 98 percent of the total.

Global Warming ‘action’ was institutionalized in US government in 1990 by George Bush the 1st in the “U.S. Global Change Research Act of 1990.” CO2 is mentioned near the end.
Trillions have been taken from US taxpayers for climate endeavors via agency budget allocations, tax subsidies, diversion of US military to climate or green projects, countless federal regulations, vast sums shipped out in no strings foreign aid for ‘climate’ capacity building, etc.

6/11/10, “Editorial: Pacific Islands not sinking from global warming,” Washington Times
researchers from the University of Auckland in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission in Fiji documented
changes in 27 vulnerable, low-lying reef islands in the Central
Pacific. Using aerial photographs taken as early as 1944, the areas were carefully mapped and compared with modern satellite images.
It turns out that the islands did, in fact, change over time, but they
are hardly sinking. Overall, 20 grew or remained stable. The island of
Funamanu, for example, expanded from 7.4 acres to 9.5 acres in size – a
28 percent growth. Only seven islands shrunk, with the biggest
percentage change occurring on Tengasu, which dropped from a tiny 1.7
acres to 1.5 acres….

Devoting 13 federal agencies to ‘climate’ matters is hardly lagging in “action.”
Trillions have been taken from US taxpayers for climate endeavors via agency budget allocations, tax subsidies, diversion of US military to climate or green projects, countless federal regulations, vast sums shipped out in no strings foreign aid for ‘climate’ capacity building, etc.
Other countries’ CO2 hasn’t dropped despite hundreds of billions spent on cap and trade and extra taxes. This isn’t to say the US government hasn’t become business partners with the ‘climate’ industry.

of Hawaii they should focus their efforts on countries other than the

League of Women voters has long supported the idea of CO2 terror via the “National Call to Action on Global Warming.” Perhaps like many others, LWV never guessed they'd win their battle with the US so soon. Among the group's demands of Americans:
