Pope seen as "potent political ally" for Obama, per AP. Obama doesn't need allies-he can do whatever he wants. The giddiness about the pope's trip is its undercurrent of slapping defenseless Americans around. Everyone knows none of the millionaires and billionaires in the US political class will defend innocent middle class Americans. You can say whatever lie you want. People are thrilled about this.
