Fossil fuel enriched Bill McKibben lies, claims Public Policy Poll says 80% of NJ voters 'very concerned' about CO2 terror after Sandy storm, but PPP says the number is 52%

"In the wake of the hurricane [Sandy] 52% of New Jersey voters say they're 'very concerned'
about global warming, 28% say they're 'somewhat concerned,' and 20% say they're 'not concerned.'"...(item about 3/4 into article)

The “consensus” says Sandy had nothing to do with global warming, but McKibben has never been interested in science anyway."

McKibben merged with fossil fuel billionaire David Rockefeller in 2011:

Polls are interesting. Over time you can get people to believe anything. Per Pew Poll, 82% of Egyptian Muslims believe you should be stoned to death for adultery:

2/11/11, "Pew Global Attitudes Project" conducted 4/12/10-5/7/10, released 12/2/10

Of the 90% of the Egyptian population that is Islamic:

"82% endorse the stoning of people who commit adultery

77% support whippings and cutting off of hands for crimes like theft and robbery

84% support the death penalty for those who leave the Muslim religion....

Experts say US CO2 emissions have dropped so much they expect US energy policy to change to reflect less concern for CO2 danger:

8/16/12, “AP IMPACT: CO2 emissions in US drop to 20-year low,” AP, Kevin Begos

In a surprising turnaround, the amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere in the U.S. has fallen dramatically to its lowest level in 20 years, and government officials say the biggest reason is that cheap and plentiful natural gas has led many power plant operators to switch from dirtier-burning coal.

Many of the world’s leading climate scientists didn’t see the drop coming, in large part because it happened as a result of market forces rather than direct government action against carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the atmosphere.

Michael Mann, director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State University, said the shift away from coal is reason for “cautious optimism” about potential ways to deal with climate change….

In a little-noticed technical report, the U.S. Energy Information Agency, a part of the Energy Department, said this month that energy related U.S. CO2 emissions for the
first four months of this year fell to about 1992 levels. Energy emissions make up about 98 percent of the total. The Associated Press contacted environmental experts, scientists and utility companies and learned that  virtually everyone believes the shift

could have major long-term implications for U.S. energy policy.”…

As we note below in a new article for Yale360, a funny thing happened: U.S. emissions started going down in 2005 and are expected to decline further over the next decade.”

Bad news, McKibben. NYC Mayor hopeful and Bloomberg ally Christine Quinn's beach house in Bradley Beach, New Jersey was not destroyed in Sandy. Bradley Beach built high dunes after a 1992 hurricane (per NY Times below) which kept Sandy waters from destroying homes. Nothing to do with CO2, just built high dunes:

NYC Mayoral hopeful Quinn says her Bradley Beach, NJ beach house was saved from Sandy by dunes town built after 1992 hurricane

12/5/12, "Storm Writes a New Script in Campaigns for New York Mayor," NY Times, by

Ms. Quinn was the only major Democratic contender who lost power in the storm, but she, like all the candidates, said her concerns were minor compared with those of people who live in low-lying areas. ...
As it often does with Ms. Quinn, the personal overlaps with the political. She and her wife share a beach house in Bradley Beach, N.J., which escaped serious damage thanks to view-obstructing dunes the town built after a damaging hurricane in 1992 — a useful case study as New York prepares its own preventive measures.
People used to bust a little bit on Bradley because you couldn’t see the water from the Boardwalk,” Ms. Quinn said. “But the dunes did their job. They ended up on the Boardwalk, but they held the water back.”"...
