Hey, the US is cool: New report, 'State of the Climate in 2014' finds Eastern half of contiguous US was cooler than average in 2014. Joining in, Antarctica and Southern Ocean also experienced cooler than usual temperatures-Spec. Supplement to Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society

Overall, the globally averaged annual temperature over land was 0.37°–0.44°C above the 1981–2010 average...(Fig. 2.1)"
