How I found this graph:
NSIDC, "Sea Ice Index" page
On the upper right on that page is a box entitled, "About the Sea Ice Index." There it says Arctic sea ice changes "are an index of climate change." It does not say the same about Antarctic sea ice. It merely says, "Southern Hemisphere" images "are also available." (One guesses by "climate change" they mean "catastrophic man caused climate change" and not "natural climate change.") To the page:
"About the Sea Ice Index"
"These satellite-derived images depict current sea ice conditions and trends. Long-term changes in Arctic sea ice are an index of climate change. Southern Hemisphere sea ice images are also available."...
Below that box is another box titled,
and you can select either Arctic or Antarctic graphs, monthly or daily. I selected "Antarctic monthly" and got the above graph.
