7/14/13, "Much needed wet week ahead for Texas," theeagle.com, Bryan-College Station, Texas, Petrutsas
"A beneficial summer rain event is about to begin across the Lone
Star State. An upper level low pressure area will be moving slowly
westward across the region throughout the next several days.
As this low interacts with plentiful moisture and an unstable
atmosphere over our area, widespread showers and thunderstorms will
likely develop. This system will be bringing us the best rain chances we
have seen in weeks, along with the potential for heavy rainfall across a
large part of Texas.
The computer models are showing rainfall totals
of 1 to 2 inches, with isolated amounts in excess of 4 inches possible
throughout the next 5 days. High temperatures will be below normal this
week due to the clouds and rain across the area. What a nice break from
the heat we are about to enjoy!
