The
Sydney Morning Herald makes no mention that
climate-cash seeking Maldives has wrecked its own future via its longtime
practice of using coral beds as construction material even in the face of their depletion, and continuing to allow overpopulation. Nor that the islands are
naturally the lowest land masses in the world. "The implications of the country's
high population growth and density are severe....
More importantly, the fresh water held beneath the soil surface is in rapid decline." Further,
scientists say sea levels there are not rising.

That sinking feeling," Sydney Morning Herald
Maldives President Nasheed
travels the world as a spokesman for catastrophic man-caused climate disaster. His country has serious
social problems rendering it only slightly more attractive than living amid a
pack of wild animals with
Islamic amputations, floggings, and not allowing
Israeli airlines to travel there. Nasheed has proven too weak to stop radical Islam or even overpopulation. He prefers to take a seat on the
climate gravy train.
""
If the West stopped their emissions and China, South Africa and Brazil carried on emitting on the basis of business as usual,
we would still die. The Maldives would disappear,'' he (Maldives Pres. Nasheed) said during a recent European visit."...
- Ed. note: Toward the end of the article, the SMH says Maldives has other problems but that all 'developing Muslim countries' have them. Really? Maldives is tiny compared to Libya, Afghanistan and others, and is separated from marauding Islamic insurgents by oceans. So it's nothing like most 'developing Muslim countries.' It would be much easier to guide the Maldives population away from savage behavior if someone wanted to do so.
(continuing, SMH): "Nasheed finds himself leader of a country facing significant problems beyond rising seas. None are unique to a developing Muslim country or an island state but they are especially acute in his tiny, diffuse homeland.
The Maldives has a huge youth bulge - 44 per cent of the country is under 14 and 62 per cent under 25 - but jobs outside tourist resorts are hard to find. In the atolls, a quarter of all young men are unemployed, as are half of all young women.
The country also has a serious drug problem. An epidemic of cheap heroin has swept through the archipelago and taken root in Male´ in particular. The UN has estimated
- 40 per cent of the country's youth use hard drugs.
The Maldives constitution obliges all Maldivians to be Muslim but the nation also faces a rising tide of Islamic fundamentalism.
Wahhabist Islamic scholars, most schooled in madrassas in Pakistan, are radicalising Islam in the Maldives. Female circumcision is practised and is reportedly on the increase. Across the archipelago, there are calls for the return of amputation for crimes and for the banning of music and dancing.
- Women are flogged for having extramarital sex.
Every effort to resist this gathering radicalisation is painted by Nasheed's political opponents as an attack on Islam." ...

Everyone knows its not about 'climate:'
"Neither the (cap and trade) version that passed the House nor the one that died in the Senate would have had much impact on emissions or the nation's energy system for decades."...If ever. Everyone knows this including the Maldives president. It's the transfer of money from the US that this is all about, money people like Nasheed have been lead to believe by UN personnel is set to flow from the evil US middle class to equatorial thugs.
P.S. The Maldives' president's wife works for the UN (item near end of page under heading, 'Post-Script'), the primary driver of the global warming industry.

Pacific and Indian Ocean island nations aren't sinking at all and what problems they have are due to nature and poor governance, not CO2.
Maldives lacks fresh water naturally (see heading 'Population). The Hollywood/UN/Maldives/Billionaire shadow world government seeks to blame and drain the evil American middle class.
It hasn't vanished due to 'global warming.' Habitats such as this have never been suitable for large populations.
Maldives is NATURALLY the lowest sea level nation on the planet--having nothing to do with CO2 or warming.
