The Greater Wisconsin Committee claims David Prosser didn’t ask police to investigate a mother’s report that a 30-year pedophile priest had indecently touched her two sons, then refused to file charges him and participated in a cover-up of the priest’s acts.

The committee’s TV ad uses generally factual statements to make its case, but ignores critical facts that would

• give a different impression.

By using information that only became known later, it suggests more information was available to Prosser at the time than really was.

For instance, Prosser didn’t know that the priest had a long history of molestation -- that came out 14 years later. And it wasn’t until 24 years later that one of the brothers made the most serious allegation against the priest.

• Finally, the two brothers have condemned the ad as

"offensive, inaccurate and out of context."

UN physician says supposed global warming remedies like biofuels cause more death, disease and suffering

Everyone knows biofuels are murdering people, and those who aren't dead yet end up for example going into prostitution as I heard a BBC reporter describe is happening in Africa. Or war breaks out over lack of food as was declared in Tunisia and other countries. The Soros group, the Bush family, Bloomberg, Obama, the UN, Al Gore, Prince Charles--they all know the global warming industry is killing but they don't stop it. Why won't someone issue an arrest warrant for these men as would happen

• normally in cases of organized crime or mass murder?

"U.S. and European policy to increase production of ethanol and other biofuels to displace fossil fuels is supposed to help human health by reducing "global warming." Instead it has added to the

• global burden of death and disease.

Increased production of biofuels increases the price of food worldwide by diverting crops and cropland from feeding people to feeding motor vehicles. Higher food prices, in turn, condemn more people to chronic hunger and "absolute poverty" (defined as income less than $1.25 per day). But hunger and poverty are leading causes of premature death and excess disease worldwide. Therefore,

• higher biofuel production would increase death and disease.

Research by the World Bank indicates that the increase in biofuels production over 2004 levels would push more than

• 35 million additional people into absolute poverty in 2010 in developing countries.
  

Using statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Indur Goklany estimates that this would lead to at least 192,000 excess deaths per year, plus disease resulting in the loss of 6.7 million disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) per year. These exceed the estimated annual toll of 141,000 deaths and 5.4 million lost DALYs that the World Health Organization attributes to global warming. Thus, developed world policies intended to mitigate global warming probably have increased death and disease in developing countries

• rather than reducing them.
  

Goklany also notes that death and disease from poverty are a fact, whereas death and

• disease from global warming are hypothetical.

Thus, the biofuel remedy for global warming may be worse than the disease it purports to alleviate.

Goklany was associated with the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) off and on over a 20-year period as an author, expert reviewer, and U.S. delegate. This is of course false as the invented issue of global warming only involves CO2. Additionally, 'global warming' concern dropped 12 points from 2001.

He emphasizes that "we are Pakistanis, who were born in this land and we do not have any kind of relationship with the United States." "What fault did those two innocent people have – he ends - who were not Americans, but only Pakistani Christians?".

In a second incident, the Full Gospel Assembly Church, in the Badami Bagh area of Lahore, was attacked. Again fundamentalists burned the church, threw copies of the Bible into the street and accused the Christians of blasphemy, claiming they found pieces of the Koran, not far from the church. During the attack some security guards were injured.

Meanwhile, the weekend demonstrations were repeated against the burning of the Koran wanted by Pastor Terry Jones in different cities of Pakistan - among other Peshawar, Lahore and Islamabad. The demonstrators, who burned his picture and chanted slogans and chants against the United States, called for the death of U.S. preacher. Extremists also threatened reprisals and other targeted attacks against Christians, if the U.S. government fails to take action against Pastor Jones.

The Pakistani Christian community, however, in a show of support with Muslims, condemns, and demonstrates against the burning of the Koran. Catholic priest Fr. Anwar Patras, said that Christians are first of all Pakistanis, "we were born in this land and we will be buried here, we have no connection with Pastor Terry Jones and his sick ideas." Condemning the attack, the religious priest shows sympathy for the two Christians killed "and reiterates that

Earth Hour would chain women to the home, children to menial labor, violence, disease, and ignorance

"Opinion - In 2009 I was asked by a journalist for my thoughts on the importance of Earth Hour. Here is my response.

I abhor Earth Hour. Abundant, cheap electricity has been the greatest source of human liberation in the 20th century. Every material social advance in the 20th century depended on the proliferation of inexpensive and reliable electricity.

• Giving women the freedom to work outside the home depended on the availability of electrical appliances that free up time from domestic chores.

Getting children out of menial labour and into schools depended on

the same thing, as well as the

• ability to provide safe indoor lighting for reading.

Development and provision of modern health care without electricity is

• absolutely impossible.
  

The expansion of our food supply, and the promotion of hygiene and nutrition, depended on being able to irrigate fields, cook and refrigerate foods, and have a steady indoor supply of hot water. Many of the world’s poor suffer brutal environmental conditions in their own homes because of the necessity of cooking over indoor fires

• that burn twigs and dung.
  

This causes local deforestation and the proliferation of smoke- and parasite-related lung diseases. Anyone who wants to see local conditions improve in the third world should realize the importance of access to cheap electricity

• from fossil-fuel based power generating stations.
  

After all, that’s how the west developed.

The whole mentality around Earth Hour demonizes electricity. I cannot do that, instead I celebrate it and all that it has provided for humanity. Earth Hour celebrates ignorance, poverty and backwardness. By repudiating the greatest engine of liberation it becomes

• an hour devoted to anti-humanism.
  

It encourages the sanctimonious gesture of turning off trivial appliances for a trivial amount of time, in deference to some ill-defined abstraction called “the Earth,” all the while hypocritically retaining the real benefits of continuous, reliable electricity. People who see virtue in doing without electricity should shut off their fridge, stove, microwave, computer, water heater, lights, TV and all other appliances

• for a month, not an hour.
  

And pop down to the cardiac unit at the hospital and shut the power off there too.

I don’t want to go back to nature. Travel to a zone hit by earthquakes, floods and hurricanes to see what it’s like to go back to nature. For humans, living in “nature” meant a short life span marked by

• violence,

• disease and
  

• ignorance.
  

People who work for the end of poverty and relief from disease are fighting against nature. I hope they leave their lights on.

Here in Ontario, through the use of pollution control technology and advanced engineering, our air quality has dramatically improved since the 1960s, despite the expansion of industry and the power supply. If, after all this, we are going to take the view that the remaining air emissions outweigh all the benefits of electricity, and that we ought to be shamed into sitting in darkness for an hour, like naughty children who have been caught doing something bad, then we are setting up unspoiled nature as an absolute, transcendent ideal that

• obliterates all other ethical and humane obligations.
  

No thanks. I like visiting nature but I don’t want to live there, and I refuse to accept the idea that civilization with all its tradeoffs is

• something to be ashamed of."

Arctic Ice in 2011 doing fine per gov. data, too bad they can't read their own charts

NSIDC trumpeted current Arctic Ice was now as low as/ as bad as same date in 2006. A closer look at the chart reveals this is not so:

Real Science: "Not so fast … DMI (Danish Meteorological Institute) shows ice extent increasing and above the two years with the highest summer minimums."

• So the ice is by no means "tied for lowest" in 2006 at this time (and about which records exist only since 1979).

Billions of dollars ride on such mistakes, which in itself shows fraud. These satellite numbers have only been kept since 1979. It is not nearly a long enough time to make global climate statements triggering a global tax on Americans.

The high resolution NSIDC chart with their article conflicts with their analysis. They are describing the turquoise line to be as bad as the green line.

Their turquoise line combines 2 years (is not 2011 alone) and it stops well short of the green line which also combines 2 years. It is academic since no one claims meaningful global trends can be determined from climate data dating only from 1979.

Haley Barbour another who has stayed too long should go back to lobbying, endorses global warming and government supported wind and biofuel

Global warming is not a political issue. It is an organized crime infested knife in the back of every American. This is what you're going to get from hopelessly out of touch, old time Republicans. You can't do just a little global warming. It has already dragged America into a depression and into more dealings with the cancerous UN which is free to commit crimes against America without fear of prosecution.

"Potential presidential candidate Haley Barbour appears to be staking out a moderate position on global warming than some of his possible rivals, saying at an event in eastern Iowa on Friday that the country should “proceed in national policy as if global warming is actually happening.”

Barbour, who has consistently opposed regulation of the energy industry, made the comments in response to a question from an Iowa voter who asked the Mississippi governor whether he thought global warming was real.

“I think the prudent thing for us, when you consider the potential risk, the prudent thing is to proceed as if global warming is an issue,” Barbour said at a luncheon organized by a local Republican group, the Linn Eagles, “but we don’t have to destroy the American economy for no positive results to do that.”

But in an interview with a blogger at the Conservative Political Action Committee Conference in Washington last month, Barbour seemed more skeptical when asked to comment about record cold temperatures in parts of the country this year.

“This global warming is about to freeze me to death,” Barbour said in jest. It's not the first time Barbour has used the quip -- he said nearly the same thing in January during his State of the State speech at the Mississippi statehouse.

• And on Friday, at the same time he acknowledged that global warming is occurring, he also added: “There are a lot of people who are very, very, very learned scientists who question whether or not what is happening is caused by man-made activity.”

Other potential 2012 Republican hopefuls have taken a harder line on the issue. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who is edging closer to a presidential run, recently made her view clear: “The science indicates that

• human activity is not the cause of all this global warming.”

At his speaking appearance before the group of about 75 Iowa voters, Barbour, a former lobbyist who once worked on behalf of energy companies, did not hesitate to criticize the Obama administration on energy issues.

• “The negative effects of the cap and trade law, the negative effects of many of Obama’s energy policies on our economy and the quality of life in the United States are enormous,” Barbour said.

As he has before Barbour called for expanded oil and natural gas production in the United States, more nuclear energy as well as the development of alternative energy sources like wind and biofuels.

“The energy policy of the Obama administration is to drive up the cost of energy so Americans will use less of it,” he said. “

• That’s not an energy policy, that’s an environmental policy.”

Barbour was traveling around the state on Friday on his second trip here in just the past two weeks, another indicator of how seriously he is considering a presidential run.

“I think Iowa’s not only important to winning the Republican nomination as the first state, I think it also may be the critical state for winning the presidential election,” he said. “I think 2012 is likely to be a very close race and that this state could be pivotal.”"
