“Americans Last” Trump threw millions of Americans into poverty then used their tax dollars to fund belching US bombers flying over 30 NATO countries in one day, 8/28/2020 in “long planned event”

As four US strategic bombers fly over Europe and two over North America for this long-planned event, named “Allied Sky”, they will be accompanied by around 80 fighter aircraft from across the Alliance, providing an opportunity to boost [so-called] Allies’ ability to train and operate alongside each other.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said: “Today’s training event demonstrates the United States’ [taxpayers’] powerful commitment to NATO, and Allied solidarity in action. As US bombers overfly all 30 NATO Allies in a single day, they are being accompanied by fighter jets from across the Alliance, boosting our ability to respond together to any challenge. Training events like this help ensure that we fulfil our core [US taxpayer funded] mission: to deter aggression, prevent conflict, and preserve peace.”

Aircraft from 20 NATO Allies are expected to fly alongside the US bombers :

Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic,

Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy,

Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania,

Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

Based at the 5th Bomb Wing, Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, the B-52s arrived in Europe on 22 August, flying into Royal Air Force Fairford in the United Kingdom. Earlier this week, the bombers also exercised together with Norwegian F-16 and F-35 fighter aircraft off the coast of Norway.

Since 2018, the US has conducted more than 200 Bomber Task Force sorties with Allies and partners. Most recently, this involved B-1B Lancer flights over the Nordic, Baltic, and Black Sea regions in May [2020], as well as an air policing overflight of North Macedonia, NATO’s newest member. In June, B-52H Stratofortresses conducted flights over the Arctic Ocean, and later took part in BALTOPS, the largest annual exercise in the Baltic Sea.”

“Audience: Laboratories Performing COVID-19 Testing

Level: Laboratory Alert

“On November 30, 2021, the SARS-CoV-2 Interagency Group (SIG) classified the new SARS-CoV-2 variant (B.1.1.529, also called Omicron) as a Variant of Concern, which matches the designation used by the World Health Organization (WHO). South Africa was the first to report this variant to the WHO. By December 1, the Omicron variant had been detected in at least 20 countries in addition to those in Southern Africa, including the United States, Israel, Hong Kong, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and several European countries.

CDC has issued a Health Alert Notification (HAN) to inform physicians about this situation and provide recommendations for public health departments, testing laboratories, healthcare providers, and the general public.

What Laboratories Should Know

*There are no authorized, cleared, or approved diagnostic tests to specifically detect SARS-CoV-2 variants (Omicron or other variants). Currently, COVID-19 tests are designed and authorized to check broadly for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, not for specific variants.

*The Omicron variant has a deletion in the spike (S) gene (Δ69-70). Some molecular tests with multiple genetic targets include a target covering the portion of the S gene where the deletion occurs. The presence of this mutation can result in an S-gene target failure (SGTF, also referred to as an S-gene drop out). The S-gene target will fail (return as negative) while other targets are expected to remain positive in the presence of this virus. SGTF can signal the need for sequencing to characterize the variant in a specimen.

*SGTF has been observed in other variants and thus is not specific to the Omicron variant. SGTF has also been observed without the presence of a mutation in the S gene, due to the sensitivity of the S-gene target. Therefore, these tests cannot be used as a diagnostic tool or specific identifier of the Omicron variant.

*SGTF is not typically observed in the Delta variant. Since Delta is the primary variant circulating in the United States, specimens with an SGTF profile may be potentially Omicron variants and should be prioritized for sequencing confirmation.

*The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) updated the SARS-CoV-2 Viral Mutations: Impact on COVID-19 Tests web page to identify currently authorized tests that may be affected by the Omicron variant, including those with SGTF. These tests are identified based on initial bioinformatics analyses and may have not yet been evaluated against the Omicron variant in the laboratory.

*If you are using a test that may have SGTF, it can potentially be used for public health surveillance efforts for identifying a case with a potential Omicron variant. Laboratories should reach out to their state health departments (SHDs) or local public health laboratory for information about their notification protocols and to potentially provide specimens for sequencing.

*Results regarding the presence of the Omicron variant, or any other variant,

should not be reported back to patients or providers and

cannot be used for diagnostic purposes.

Difference between Covid-19 and SARS-CoV-2

The current surge in UK–what it means

The “surge” in cases is true in absolute terms, but any new increase causes testing to be ramped up. The proportion of positive tests over the four weeks up to 9 July rose from

0.4% to 2.6%. Is this really alarming?

Neither hospital admission rate nor death rate has surged exponentially.

This might reflect the changed age range of infection; older people have already had it, or been vaccinated, and younger people might be asymptomatic or not as seriously ill (their infection does not cause the development of covid-19).

Emerging virus variants

The emergence of virus variants is unsurprising and inevitable; they indicate that the world will have to live with the virus. Should we panic with each new mutation? If we do, we will have an infinite succession of lockdowns (which, if the data are to be believed, make little difference anyway, as there is a disconnect between the timing of test peaks and the introduction of lockdown measures).

Statistics can be twisted to make, or fit, the message. In my area there was an “alarming” 50% increase in “cases”--from two to three. With such low rates, the effect of false positives is magnified.

The credibility of prophets can be judged on their past performance. On that basis, their persistent doom laden warnings show only that the models on which the prophecies were based are flawed.

Look at Israel’s Delta case surge, a model country for vaccination, >15 per cent points more of total population vaccinated than the US. That, in itself, tells us about

the reduction of protection of mRNA vaccines
